Sian Macdonald

Choices Counselling Moray is run by Sian Macdonald.

With over 20 years of counselling experience, you can be confident you will have a professional and compassionate person ready to listen and help you make positive changes in your life.

Sian qualified with Relationships Scotland in 2002 as a psychodynamic counsellor and worked for the organisation for 10 years. The diploma encompassed extensive training in counselling for young people, families, couples, and adults, including 350 hours of heavily supervised client work before the diploma was awarded.

Initially trained in psychodynamic counselling, which explores the subconscious roots of emotions and behaviours, Sian now employs an integrative or pluralistic approach. She draws on a range of skills and training to ensure that her methods are tailored to best meet the needs of each individual.

In 2008 Sian set up her own private practice, Choices Counselling Moray.

Sian has worked with a vast array of individuals, couples, young people and families over the years and brings a wealth of experience to her work having seen clients from various backgrounds, ages and stages of their lives.

As well as a Diploma in (Couple) Counselling, Sian is qualified to work with young people and families having attained a postgraduate certificate in young persons counselling and family work. During the pandemic, she also completed her certificate in Schema Therapy.

Additionally, Sian works as a counsellor for Quarriers and Arrows and for local businesses.
